In response to the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to dismiss Gov. Abba Yusuf, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have organized a “embarrassing 8-man protest” in London, under the auspices of the National Coalition of APC Progressives Stakeholders.
After an unsuccessful attempt to discredit the tribunal’s verdict, the parties involved held a news conference on Monday in Abuja, where they blamed the London demonstration on this.
Isabella Odunayo, the organization’s National Secretary, spoke on behalf of its members when she remarked that it was embarrassing that Yusuf and the Kwankwasiyya Movement only managed to rally eight individuals out of a potential audience of 1,000, demonstrating that Nigerians at home and in the diaspora accepted the ruling in good faith.

She told reporters that the organization is speaking out in response to false information being spread by the NNPP, and that it was primitive and outdated on the part of the NNPP to play along with extortion by demanding justice from faraway London when the verdict of the tribunal had already been rendered.
According to her, the NNPP went to London in an attempt to threaten the federal government and discredit the tribunal’s finding after its initial attempts to undermine it had failed. Clips of the celebrations after the APC’s triumph at the tribunal had already been seen by Nigerians living abroad, surprising the event’s organizers.
It’s embarrassing that Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Kwankwasiyya Movement only managed to round up eight individuals for a protest that was supposed to draw in the neighborhood of a thousand. This shows that Nigerians at home and in the diaspora accepted the ruling in good faith.
“The NNPP should know that the judiciary will not be cowed by its threat, as Nigeria’s security agencies are well-equipped to protect the country. The eight persons, led by Dr. Aminu Bello, who caused a scandal in London on Sunday do not speak for all Nigerians.
