The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has congratulated Monday Okpebholo on his victory as the Edo State Governor-elect following the recent gubernatorial election.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje described Okpebholo’s win as well-deserved, noting that it reflected the trust and confidence the people of Edo State had in the progressive agenda of the APC-led administration under President Bola Tinubu.
“The triumph of Monday Okpebholo is a testament to the confidence the good people of Edo have in the progressive vision and leadership of the Bola Tinubu-led APC administration,” Ganduje stated.

He further highlighted that Okpebholo’s victory mirrored the hope and faith placed in his leadership qualities by the electorate.
Ganduje also credited the hard work and resilience of party members and supporters for ensuring a peaceful, free, and fair election.
He acknowledged that the successful outcome was a collective effort that demonstrated the unity and dedication of the APC in Edo State.
Expressing confidence in Okpebholo’s ability to deliver on his promises, Ganduje said the state was now set to experience unprecedented growth, peace, and development.
He pledged the APC’s full support for Okpebholo’s administration, stressing that the party would work closely with him to ensure the realisation of a greater Edo that benefits all citizens.
“The APC will support Okpebholo’s administration and work with him to ensure that the vision of a greater Edo is achieved for the benefit of all,” Ganduje said.
He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) for their unwavering support, noting that the victory belonged to the entire people of Edo State.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okpebholo, 54, secured 291,667 votes to emerge victorious, defeating Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,274 votes. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) finished third with 22,361 votes.
The conclusion of the election marks a new chapter for Edo State, as Okpebholo prepares to take office with promises of growth and transformation for the state.
