Some past leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State have expressed concern over the alleged declining fortunes of the party in the state.
The APC stakeholders, under the banner of “Concerned APC Members,” held a meeting in Yola on Sunday to address the state of the party and called for urgent reconciliation efforts to reposition it.
They warned that unless the party resolves its internal issues, it risks losing the 2027 governorship election, just as it did in 2019 and 2023.

Speaking during the meeting, the group’s leader and former state deputy chairman, Saidu Naira, said widespread discontent among members has led to defections, underscoring the need for immediate intervention.
“If the party and its members have largely been ignored, now is the time for our leaders to reach out and unite the party into a strong front,” Naira said.
He alleged that no concrete reconciliation efforts have been made since the 2023 election, leaving many members aggrieved and feeling abandoned. “Some members are already leaving for other parties,” he added.
Naira further accused powerful individuals within the state of hijacking the party’s leadership.
He appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to intervene and save the party from collapse.
He urged the national leadership to establish a committee and send a delegation to Adamawa to restore the party’s autonomy and strengthen its position in the state.
