The All Progressives Congress Support Vanguard (APCSV) has criticized presidential aides for failing to respond to recent remarks by former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Abdullahi Mohammed Tofa, the group described the silence of party members, particularly appointed aides, as unfair, given the implications of Amaechi’s comments.
“Except for the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, who warned the former minister against making reckless and inciting statements about Tinubu’s leadership, we have yet to see others rise in defense of the President,” the statement read.

The APC group condemned Amaechi’s warning that President Tinubu would not relinquish power to the younger generation without resistance, labeling it a dangerous narrative.
“For anyone to publicly state, ‘If you think Tinubu will just give you power, you are wasting your time,’ is nothing but incitement.
The fact that most of Tinubu’s aides have remained silent on this matter is worrisome,” it added.
The group also recalled how Amaechi, in 2024, questioned Tinubu’s preparedness in handling the fuel subsidy removal, only to return in 2025 with claims that the political class, including Tinubu, would not willingly cede power to the younger generation.
While affirming support for constructive criticism, the group warned against statements that could overheat the polity.
“As a concerned support group disturbed by the unwarranted attacks on Tinubu within the party hierarchy, we call on appointees, the party structure, and friends of the President to respond to Amaechi immediately and set the record straight,” APCSV stated.
