Some 2023 presidential hopefuls from the opposition parties have petitioned All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje to convince President Bola Tinubu to appoint them to cabinet positions.
On behalf of the Forum of Concern Presidential Candidates, National Rescue Movement (NRM) presidential candidate Ambassador Felix Johnson Osakwe argued that Tinubu should incorporate the NRM into his cabinet since the NRM is committed to peace.
All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Action Democratic Party (ADP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), and Action Peoples Party (APP) were among the Presidential contenders who met with Ganduje on Thursday in Abuja.

He claimed that the opposition candidates were not going to contest Tinubu’s victory in court because they wanted peace and prosperity in Nigeria.
His exact words were, “We are here, sir, not only to see Mr. President; number one is to be identified with you and to thank God for your appointment; number two, we see you as a father, sir, who has been a Commander-in-Chief of a state, and here you are today to be the pilot that will lead the presidential candidate, especially those who are ready and those who love this country and the interest of this country first before politics, before parties.
That you are the appropriate person to lead us in meeting with Mr. President so that he may hear our own opinions in person and see that not everyone opposing him is a presidential contender.
We’ve considered going to court, but since we’re already in Nigeria, there’s nowhere else for us to go.
We’re presidential contenders, and we have something to offer this country, and I think a government based on inclusiveness will require language like this: “So we’re here to thank you and thank God and everyone seated here.”
In response, President Ganduje assured them that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would hear their concerns.
He promised, “I will relay your comments and demands. And I’ll make it so you and Mr. President are on the same page. For staying true to your political affiliations, I appreciate it. I am seeing the accidental rise to the presidency of a political hopeful. He was politically partyless before he hijacked another party and ran for president.
