Alexandre Lacazette’s first-half goal gave Arsenal a 1-0 win over FK Qarabag in Europa League Group E action on Thursday.
The victory at the Emirates saw the Gunners, who welcomed captain Laurent Koscielny back from a torn Achilles tendon, finish the group stage undefeated and at the top of the table.
The game’s lone score came in the 17th minute when Lacazette got a low strike past Qarabag goalkeeper Vagner.
Arsenal had a chance to double their lead in the 88th minute, but Vagner stuffed youngster Bukayo Saka’s close-range shot.
The Azerbaijani side finish last in the group, having won one match during the group-stage round. Sporting CP, who defeated Vorskla, clinched second place.
