Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has come out to say that he would jump at the chance to join Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff at Manchester City. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, if Pep Guardiola comes in and asks me to be his assistant today, he would grab the opportunity with both hands immediately.
Rooney added that Arteta is doing good in the EPL right now because he learnt from Pep Guardiola.
His words, “It depends. If Pep Guardiola comes in and asks me to be his assistant, you’d walk there! But you see what Arteta is doing now and I strongly believe a lot of that is from learning what Guardiola was doing and so it depends on what the situation is.”
On if he is hunting for a new job, “Of course, my playing experience will help me, but I’m right at the bottom from a managerial point of view, and I want to work my way up. I’m not relying on what I’ve done as a player to get me into places that I shouldn’t be.”

The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992, beating Nottingham Forest 1–0 in the second to win that competition for the first time as well.
