Popular singer and rapper Olamide has shut down reports saying that he and Asake are at loggerheads. Recall that his former signee officially left his YBNL record label months ago.
Speaking during an interview with the BBC, shared online on Friday ahead of his UK show, Olamide clarified that their relationship remains solid despite changes in business structure.

According to him, rumours claiming that they stopped being close friends after Asake’s YBNL exit are false, and he can confirm that they are still family.
He concluded by saying that life will always go on after business, so the “Sungba” crooner will remain his brother for life.
“We’re still family. That’s my brother for life. It’s always the same thing with me and all my people, business is never personal, and after business, life goes on,” he wrote.
Asake joined YBNL in February 2022 after years of being independent.
His debut single under the label, “Omo Ope,” featuring Olamide, became a nationwide hit and cemented his mainstream breakthrough.
His success triggered conversations about Olamide’s record of developing stars like Adekunle Gold, Fireboy DML, Lil Kesh and Chinko Ekun.
Speculation intensified earlier this year when Asake launched his own imprint, Giran Republic, signalling a new stage of his career.
Around the same period, entertainment lawyer Oluyemisi Falaye disclosed that Asake had concerns about his contract but still signed it out of excitement.
