The match ended 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes as Atletico Madrid were ahead for a large part of the game after Keidi Bare’s 33rd-minute opener, but Liverpool equalised late on thanks to Roberto Firmino’s penalty. Jurgen Klopp’s team…

A deal now appears really close, with Wagner Ribeiro — who…
Manchester City’s summer has seen the club splash out over £200 million on new recruits. It’s also showing no signs of slowing down, with Pep Guardiola still interested in bringing in Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal and with the news they may also be ready to splash out for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe. Even if neither of those transfers go ahead, City will be viewed as the brash big-spenders — alongside Paris Saint-Germain, if their move for Barcelona forward Neymar goes ahead and smashes the world transfer record. However, the sniping at transfer fees is dull. With a record television deal in…

Matic starred for the Red Devils in their 2-1 friendly win over Sampdoria in Dublin following his £35 million switch from Premier League champions Chelsea. He played just 45 minutes, with Mourinho admitting the Serbian still lacked full match fitness. “He needs time but [his] experience, intelligence, a genius in the way he thinks — he thinks football,” Mourinho said. “We will help him to be ready sooner rather than later.” On Phil Jones’ ban by…

The Serbian impressed enough to suggest he will start against European champions Real Madrid in Macedonia on Aug. 8. Henrikh Mkhitaryan as well, too, after he scored another sensational preseason goal to put United ahead against Sampdoria. The Serie A side equalised…
Jurgen Klopp hopes the transfer fee in Neymar’s impending world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain is an “exception” and questioned whether UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) has any effect on any club’s spending power. Barcelona, who confirmed Neymar intention to leave the club, are demanding PSG pay the Brazilian’s €222 million buyout clause, which would break and bury the previous transfer record of Paul Pogba moving to Manchester United from Juventus for £89.3 million last summer. La Liga president Javier Tebas has said he is prepared to file a complaint about PSG to UEFA and the European Union for what he…

Neymar is on the verge of a €222 million move to Paris after Barcelona stated on Wednesday the Brazilian wants to leave the Camp Nou. He said: “When we paid that amount for Paul I [said] that he was not expensive. Neymar’s imminent move to Paris Saint-Germain has surprised European football, and the insanity of the transfer market is likely to worsen things in the next few weeks as reports have it that Monaco starboy Kylian Mbappe is ready to push for an exit. Barcelona, who appear very weak after losing a third of the “MSN”, will be in crazy mode to acquire another superstar to appease their disgruntled fans and lead the race, according to the report. As straight replacements go, the Blaugrana could strike it lucky, though the 18-year-old may have his heart set on Real Madrid, given neither…
