No fewer than 4,000 rural people have benefited from the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) programme in Katsina State. Mr Okpo John, the NYSC Coordinator in the state, disclosed this on Friday in Katsina while presenting wheel chairs to some physically challenged persons. He said that the programme was aimed at mobilising corps members medical personnel to provide health intervention to rural dwellers. Residents of Ungwar Jatau, a rural community in Chukun Local Government Area of Kaaduna State, on Monday commended the provision of a borehole by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) under its rural water supply scheme.
