The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness and beg for mercy on behalf of the embattled actress and AGN president, Ibinabo Fiberesima who has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for driving the car that killed a medical doctor, Suraj Giwa in an accident that occurred in February 2006.

The Supreme Court has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) permission to try former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu on corruption charges. The decision was announced by Justice Suleiman Galadima today, March 18, 2016. Kalu has been accused of participating in the laundering of N5.6 billion in public funds. He allegedly committed the fraud during his tenure as governor of Abia between 1999 and 2007. The EFCC took Kalu to court in 2007 but the case was stalled due to various court orders.
