Senator Dino Melaye is currently appearing before the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges over allegations that he did not graduate from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) as claimed. Melaye is appearing alongside the Vice Chancellor of ABU, Ibrahim Garba. The Senate agreed to investigate the claims after a petition by Senator Ali Ndume. Ndume’s petition was based on a series of reports by online publication, Sahara Reporters. The publication has accused Melaye of bribing his Head of Department (HOD) to forge his transcript and stealing a television from the National Association of Geography Students in ABU.
