The Senate has postponed the screening of Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu to December 15. Magu was meant to be screened, and possibly confirmed, on Thursday, December 8, but the Senate was unable to carry out the exercise. According to Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Na’Allah, the exercise was postponed to enable senators who were not in attendance to participate. The Federal High Court on Wednesday in Abuja struck out defamation suit filed by President Muhammadu Buhari against DAAR Communications, operators of the African Independent Television (AIT). Justice John Tsoho held that the court was compelled to strike out the suit because it appeared abandoned. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) said on Wednesday that it would embark on a three-day warning strike in 2017 if oil and gas companies failed to address workers’ welfare.
