Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has suspended his Chief of Staff, Anthony Agbazuere. Chris Ezem, Secretary to the State Government, made the announcement in a statement on Sunday. The suspension takes immediate effect. No reason was given. Ezem said the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Alozie Odoemelam, will assume the Chief of Staff position until further notice. The Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) has canceled the election in wards in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State following what it described as electoral malpractices in the state bye election. According to the INEC Resident Commissioner, Dr Asmau Maikudi, the INEC decided to cancel the election because it was not properly done. “The report we received was that many ballot boxes were snatched and some of the INEC adhoc workers were kidnapped” Maikudi also condemned the actions of the thugs, saying that the attitude shows clearly that they do not want peace in Zamfara State at all.
