No fewer than 40 people were yesterday killed in a bomb attack targeting fans watching a football match in Mubi, Adamawa State. “There has been a bomb explosion at a football field this evening (yesterday) and so far more than 40 people have been killed,” an officer who requested anonymity told Vanguard. The remains of the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Shehu Abubakar, were buried in his palace in Gombe at 7:20 p.m. on Friday, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported. The National Oil Spills Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA, has said the assessment of damages caused by oil spill from Agip’s Brass Oil Export Terminal is in its final stage. The director of oil fields assessment in NOSDRA, Idris Musa, said this in an interview in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital on Sunday.
