Throughout her career, Azealia Banks’ music journey has been hindered by disputes with other artists.
After engaging in a heated rant with Cardi B on social media earlier this week, Banks turned the page on Thursday night (Sept. 28), when she apologized to Nicki Minaj on Instagram.
Banks called out to Minaj via direct message and praised the “No Frauds” MC for her artistry and intellect. “I really do enjoy your artistry and think you’re so intelligent and clever,” said Banks. “You have a really brilliant art mind and often times remind me a lot of myself.”
To Banks’ utmost shock, Minaj responded and encouraged the embattled star to focus on her career. “You’re very talented & very smart,” she said. “Focus on what really matters from now on.” According to Banks, she “cried a bit when [Minaj] responded.”
Earlier this week, Banks dubbed Cardi B a “poor man’s Nicki,” which sparked a massive battle between the MCs. Cardi lashed back and posted a video of Banks dancing with vigor to “Bodak Yellow” in the club, which infuriated the “212” star. As a result, Banks attacked Cardi with claims that she uses a ghostwriter.
