Popular football analyst Eric Garcia has come out to say that Barcelona’s form has surprised him this season. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if he expected the Spanish club to do reasonably well given the talents they have on display, the way they quickly adapted to Hansi Flick‘s style of football is something no one saw coming.

Garcia added that Barcelona is currently home to most of the top stars in Europe, and he believes the team will only get better.
His words, “I think they surprised us all. I think that we could expect them to do well, because the team is there. They had the talent last year, they did a good job, even though they didn’t with La Liga. They did well in the Champions League and European competition. But you can see that there was something there.
Talents like Gavi, Pedri, Fermin Lopez, Lamine Yamal, obviously, Alejandro Balde. You could say that right now, they are probably top stars in Europe, or rising stars. You could see that there was something. But I think they surprised us all, because they picked up very well what Hansi Flick has made them do, this new style of Barcelona. We all remember the Barcelona of the Tiki Taka, possession and trying to always be dominant in the game, but this is a new style.”
WOW.
Futbol Club Barcelona is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in La Liga, the top flight of Spanish football.
Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, Catalan, German, and English footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism, hence the motto “Més que un club” (“More than a club”). Unlike many other football clubs, the supporters own and operate Barcelona. It is the third-most valuable sports team in the world, worth $5.51 billion, and the world’s fourth richest football club in terms of revenue, with an annual turnover of €582.1 million.
The official Barcelona anthem is the “Cant del Barça”, written by Jaume Picas and Josep Maria Espinàs. Barcelona traditionally play in dark shades of blue and garnet stripes, hence nicknamed Blaugrana.
In March 2021, Lionel Messi overtook Xavi’s record of 767 games played for the club, and presently has made 778 official appearances in all competitions, while also holding the record for the most appearances in La Liga matches for Barcelona, with 520.
