Dutch great, Marco van Basten has come out to slam Joan Laporta’s Barcelona for the way the club has treated Frenkie de Jong this summer. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, if Johan Cruyff was alive, he would surely have been ashamed to see the club Barcelona has become amid their financial struggles and constant player oppression.
Van Basten added that Barcelona‘s behaviour has been far below their standards this summer, and this is a disgraceful move by a great club.
His words, “I think that Johan Cruyff would have been ashamed to see how Barça behaved today.”
