Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to alleged anti-party activities.
Mohammed accused Wike of serving the interests of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and suggested it would be better for the minister to officially join the APC.
He dismissed Wike’s alleged attempts to tarnish his reputation, describing them as desperate and ineffective, adding that Nigerians could see through the minister’s “facade.”

This development comes after Bala Mohammed, on Thursday, referred to Wike as a “transactional politician” whose loyalty shifts based on personal ambitions.
In response, Wike, through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, accused Mohammed of being a “greedy politician” and urged him to stop using Wike’s ministerial appointment by President Bola Tinubu as an excuse for his alleged leadership failures as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.
However, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Bala Mohammed described Wike’s attack as “reckless, deceptive, and a reflection of his declining political relevance.”
The Bauchi governor accused Wike of a history of betrayal, citing individuals such as Senator John Azuta Mbata, Dr. Peter Odili, and Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi as victims of Wike’s alleged treachery.
The statement also criticized Wike’s tenure as being characterized by a “use-and-dump” approach and blamed him for contributing to internal crises within the PDP, including the removal of party leaders such as Uche Secondus and Iyorchia Ayu.
“Let Nyesom Wike be reminded that while he lives in a delusional, self-created universe of seeing splits and factions in the PDP, the party is resolute and united apart from a few turncoats and quislings led by him who are desperately committed to weakening it for the benefit of the APC, whose willing tool and favored foot soldier he has become,” the statement read.
The governor asserted that under his “vibrant and visionary leadership,” the PDP Governors’ Forum and the party’s Board of Trustees are working to cleanse the party of “Wike’s treachery and perfidy” as part of efforts to defeat the APC in the 2027 elections.
“The time for noise-making is over; it is time for governance. Let Wike reflect on his conduct and do the honorable thing: RESIGN AND ALIGN FULLY WITH THE APC he so eagerly serves.
Until then, his words will remain as hollow as his loyalty,” the statement concluded.
