The Benue State House of Assembly has suspended four of its members for three months over allegations of plotting to impeach the Speaker, Hyacinth Dajoh.
Those affected are Alfred Berger, representing Makurdi North; Terna Shimawua, representing Kian State Constituency; Cyril Ekong of Obi State Constituency; and James Umoru, representing Apa State Constituency.
Following their suspension, the Assembly announced adjustments in its leadership structure. Kennedy Angbo was named the new Deputy Majority Leader, Douglas Akya emerged as Deputy Chief Whip, while Elias Audu was appointed the new spokesman of the House.

Meanwhile, the Assembly on Friday commenced the screening of five commissioner nominees. However, two nominees, Ogwu Odeh and Imojime Tiza, are expected to be screened at a later date.
