The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday inaugurated its newly elected executives despite ongoing internal crises.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the party’s state secretariat in New GRA, Makurdi.
The newly elected chairman, Mr. Chris Abah, was sworn in alongside 14 other members of the State Working Committee (SWC).

The oath of office was administered by Barr. Sam Tsumba on behalf of the Benue PDP Caretaker Committee, who congratulated the officials on their emergence as party leaders.
Mr. Abah and the other officials were elected during the Benue State PDP Congress held on October 3, 2024.
Other key members sworn in include Deputy Chairman Hon. Clement Azuanongo, Secretary Mr. Moses Audu, Youth Leader Saater Atser, and Woman Leader Grace Abine, among others.
In his remarks, Mr. Abah assured members that his leadership would work to strengthen the party and ensure its return to power in Benue State by 2027.
“I accept this great responsibility to reposition the party and call on members with good disposition to rally round the party to bounce back in 2027,” he stated.
The ceremony occurred amid factional disputes within the Benue PDP, with the party divided into two camps led by former Governor Samuel Ortom and Senator Gabriel Suswam. Both camps held parallel state congresses on October 3.
