Mrs. Gladys Eutamdala’s confirmation as commissioner was voted down by the Cross River State Assembly.
She was a native of Yakurr Local Government Area.
Assembly Judiciary Committee Chairman Davis Etta has stated that multiple petitions were submitted in opposition to Eutemdala’s appointment.
He made clear that the complaints were mostly submitted by her fellow Yakurr natives, who had serious public concerns about her.
Elvert Ayambem, the Speaker, rejected her nomination after receiving numerous petitions opposing her.
In his speech, the Speaker stated, “The 10th Assembly is that of the people, and it must respect and first protect the interests of the people.”
There were originally 25, but the assembly eliminated them.
