Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, who also calls herself a gender-based activist, has admitted that social media conflicts earns her more money.
Daramola, in an interview with Saturday Beats, responded to comments concerning her running with fans after she made a post about women being second to men, stating that it should be the norm.
She said, “The backlash is nothing to me, I just wanted to drive home a point. My own stand point is that of most reasonable women.”
“The funny thing is that things like that increase my fan base. If there was no conflict, no one would go to my page to find out what is going on. It makes my account more active and the more the merrier for me.”
“Don’t forget that I am a brand, when things like that happen, it is more money for me. It is an advantage to me. The reason I actually answered was because I wanted to create a crisis.”
“When Foluke talks, everyone would want to know what is happening and that is what makes the world more interesting.”
Foluke Daramola is the founder of a non-governmental organisation called Passion Against Rape and Abuse in Africa (PARA).
This is a culmination of her experience as a rape victim, hoping to use the platform to help people like her.
