Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Abuja Federal High Court has declined to vacate the execution of his order barring former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, from attending the party’s meetings scheduled for April 18 and 19, 2024.
The judge also rejected similar requests from Celestine Omehia and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara.
In his ruling on three separate applications filed by Secondus, Omehia, and Opara, Justice Ekwo held that the applicants’ cases were grossly incompetent and lacked merit.

The interim order restraining Secondus from participating in the PDP’s upcoming meeting was issued two weeks ago following an ex-parte application brought by Titus Jones, a PDP member from Ward 5, Ikuru Town, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Despite appeals and applications seeking to stay the execution of the order, Justice Ekwo maintained that the applicants failed to challenge the interim order before going on appeal, bypassing the law.
Consequently, the court extended the interim order barring the applicants from attending PDP meetings pending the hearing and determination of the suits.
The matter has been adjourned till April 25 for the hearing of the main suits.
