The Kano State Government has been ordered by a high court not to proceed with the planned demolition of homes along BUK Road in the state’s Gwale Local Government.
The ex parte motion application, filed on July 4 by Ibrahim Adamu, Counsel to the Plaintiffs on behalf of Malam Bashir Abdullahi and 19 other parties, was approved by the court.
The Kano State Bureau for Land Management, Kano Urban Planning and Development, the State Attorney General, and Governor Abba Yusuf are listed as respondents in the lawsuit, according to NAN.
In order to prevent the respondents from intruding on the land while the motion on notice is being heard and decided, Justice Hafsat Yahaya-Sani ordered the order of an interim injunction.
Yahaya-Sani postponed the matter until October 26 so that the move on notice may be heard.
