Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson has come out to say that club winger, Wilfried Zaha is not for sale.
He recently revealed that he hopes to keep the Ivory Coast forward beyond the current transfer window.
According to him, Zaha is under contract, but the club is not ready to sell him anytime soon.
He, however, added that he is a realist, so if a club pays up his value, they will have no choice but to let him go.
His words, “He is under contract, he is not on the transfer list and we don’t want to sell him,”
“But of course, I would be naive to say a situation where the club doesn’t want to sell doesn’t mean you don’t get offers which are going to cause you some problems.”
“At the moment, that hasn’t happened so I will continue to enjoy having him available.”
“I have no idea. I look forward to going into work with him every day,”
“I’m a realist and I realise that if a club comes in and pays what the club thinks he is worth and he desperately wants to go, it will be hard for us to keep him,”
“But until that day comes, there is no point in me speculating.
“I can even hope that because Wilf is a Palace man through and through that he will see a team that could be getting better and looking to go forward and maybe he will accept that staying here isn’t quite that bad.”
