Igbo members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have warned Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, to be patient and wait his turn to run the country. The OPI/Igbo Kwenu for Asiwaju-Shettima is an offshoot of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The organization maintained that Obi’s request for President Bola Tinubu to reveal his home state and educational background was an insult.
Mrs. Ginika Tor, the group’s worldwide president, expressed her displeasure with Obi’s behavior at a news conference held on Wednesday in Abuja.

She explained: “I had already put up my speech and suddenly I realized that my own brother, whom I respect so much, Peter Obi, who is also the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, came up on ARISE TV to say that our president, a man that is the number one man in this country, should come out and explain his state.
After eight years as governor, you should know the state well enough to tell us about your educational background, right?
“It is an insult to Nigeria as a nation for you to call out our President, who was overwhelmingly supported, elected, confirmed, and validated as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to come and stand before who, to say he’s from this state, from this country, from this region, from this locality. Should we hold him to that? The President must now fulfill his obligation to transport us to the location of our choosing.
Therefore, I am saddened by the actions of my brother, who courageously ran as an Igbo candidate. Even if it’s not his time right now, he might get it eventually. What he does now will have consequences afterwards. All Igbos should exercise caution and not be mislead by the news interview our own brother gave to ARISE.
She went on to tell Obi, “We are telling our brother, Obi, to calm down; if God wanted you to be there, He would have made you the President. He didn’t. This President has a lot of things to worry about. Do you not care about the problems facing the world?
