The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has expressed disagreement with President Bola Tinubu’s recent private trip to France, stating concerns about the country’s need for leadership during challenging times.
CUPP questioned the timing of Tinubu’s trip, citing Nigeria’s pressing need for effective governance.
The coalition expressed unease over the frequency of Tinubu’s private trips to France, likening the situation to the past administration under President Buhari.

In a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Peter Ameh, CUPP recommended that future leaders undergo comprehensive health and fitness tests to prevent similar scenarios.
The coalition voiced concerns that the private nature of Tinubu’s trips might conceal undisclosed activities that could impact Nigeria’s progress.
CUPP also warned against a recurrence of a presidency marked by undisclosed medical trips abroad, urging President Tinubu to prioritize addressing Nigeria’s security challenges, inflation, unemployment, and currency devaluation.
The coalition emphasized the need for a hands-on president, urging Tinubu to address any personal matters within Nigeria or ensure that necessary facilities are available domestically.
CUPP stressed the importance of the president’s physical presence to reassure Nigerians of his commitment to governing the country effectively.
The coalition concluded by highlighting the critical issues facing Nigeria and urging President Tinubu to focus on domestic challenges rather than frequent private trips abroad.
