Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, the embattled leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, announced that he has appealed the most recent ruling of the State High Court.
According to Infostride News, Justice Nuhu Adi, the presiding justice of the State High Court, recently removed Bawa from his position on the grounds that his nomination as the party’s substantive chairman was “unconstitutional.”
Bawa said on Sunday in Jalingo, the state capital, that he had filed an appeal with the Court of Appeal of Nigeria, Yola Judicial Division, over the ruling.

His notice of appeal includes the following sentence: “That the applicant who was the second defendant before the trial court, being dissatisfied with the judgment of the Taraba State High Court of Justice, Jalingo Judicial Division, do hereby appeal to the Court of Appeal.”
The party has suffered as a result of the leadership conflict between Bawa and Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, which resulted in the closure of the secretariat.
The Taraba State Police Command has ordered the feuding pair to keep their distance from the party’s location till the blazing dispute is amicably settled.
At the time this article was submitted, both Bakari and Bawa were still vying to be the party’s chairman.
Despite the formation of a committee by the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, to address the issues, the impasse has only gotten worse.
