The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State has criticized Senator Obinna Ogba, who previously served as the representative for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly for a total of eight years, for his claimed intentions to switch parties and join the All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to the PDP, Ogba made the decision to leave the party after he was unsuccessful in winning the gubernatorial primary in 2022.
You may remember that Ogba only recently handed in his resignation as a member of the PDP and expressed interest in switching to the APC in the state.

In a statement that was made accessible to journalists in Abakaliki on Sunday, Mr. Augustine Nwazunku, who serves as the state chairman of the PDP, criticized Ogba.
According to the statement, “Senator Obinna Ogba is engaging in politics of willful cynicism which is devoid of any moral considerations.” Having integrity in one’s motivations is considered archaic by him. His political behavior is hedonistic and based on pharaonic self-love. He is committed to this behavior.
The fact that he did not come out on top in the PDP GUBER primaries in 2022 was a major factor in his decision to switch to the APC. A concrete example of willful political anarchism, syndicalism, individualism, and personality cultism may be seen here.
“We in the PDP had decided to forge ahead without the distractions of these planted fifth-columnists, but they are making the process of leaving the PDP for the APC become an endless programme of stage-managed noise-making,” she said. “We are not going to let them win.”
It is regrettable that persons like Senator Ogba have made themselves available to be exploited as willing tools in the process of destroying the political system in Nigeria.
“After all, Ogba was a political unknown quantity before the PDP catapulted him to various eminent positions in the state and at the national level,” which resulted in “his going to the Senate for two terms from 2015 to 2023.”
