Victor Osehobo, the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, has refuted reports alleging that the Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, is imposing the preferred governorship aspirant of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for February 17.
Osehobo dismissed these reports as baseless and emphasized that Oshiomhole is committed to due process.
Speaking in Benin, the Edo State capital, Osehobo stated that the allegations of Oshiomhole endorsing and imposing a preferred candidate are unfounded, especially considering that the direct primary process is yet to take place.

He criticized the reports as attempts to create chaos ahead of the primary elections and highlighted the transparent process through which a candidate emerges.
Osehobo also questioned the timing of these allegations, particularly with the primary screening starting on the same day.
Referring to allegations of secret meetings with former commissioners Kassim Afegbua and Mika Amanokha orchestrated by Oshiomhole, Osehobo expressed disbelief, noting that the accessibility of Afegbua and Amanokha raises questions about why they were not directly approached for clarification.
He described these claims as absurd and lacking credibility.
