The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has raised alarm over the alleged abduction of two sons of a former senator, Clifford Ordia.
Dr Anthony Aziegbemi, the state caretaker committee chairman of the PDP, disclosed this to journalists on Saturday in Benin City.
According to him, Ordia, who represented Edo Central in the National Assembly, was attacked earlier in the day, with his vehicle vandalised and his two sons allegedly taken away by the attackers.

“The report we are hearing now is that Senator Ordia’s vehicle has been attacked and his two sons abducted. The election is ongoing but Senator Ordia’s vehicle has just been attacked in Irrua and his two sons abducted.
That is the latest we are hearing from Irrua, Esan, which is Governor Monday Okpebholo’s local government,” Aziegbemi stated.
He said the incident occurred on Saturday morning while the former senator was making preparations for the ongoing by-election in the area.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, Moses Yamu, said the command had not received any official report of the incident.
“I am not aware of any attack for now. I will get back to you when I get confirmation,” Yamu told Newsmen.
