Popular rapper Oladips has recounted how operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his home and detained him over unpaid taxes. He recently revealed that the incident took place some time last year.
Speaking during an interview with HipTV, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji shared that EFCC officers suddenly stormed his estate around 3 a.m. and picked up several residents over alleged internet fraud.

According to him, he was very surprised by the invasion at the time because he had never engaged in fraud.
The lyricist stated that the officials broke down his kitchen door to enter his apartment, and he ended up in detention that morning.
“Nigeria just happened to me. It was just a normal night and they entered my estate going from house to house. They came to my house as well. It was like 3 a.m.
I was on my bed pressing my phone because that’s none of my business, na person wey do fraud go dey run.
Next thing, I heard a loud noise from downstairs. They broke my kitchen door, entered my house and were like, ‘Hey, hey, where’s your phone?’
I don’t even have a laptop, just two phones. They collected them and took me to their office,” he said.
He further noted that despite not finding anything incriminating on his phone to prove he is a fraudster, his inability to provide his tax papers kept him in their custody.
Oladips concluded by saying that he was released after paying some money and decided against suing to avoid court stress.
“They didn’t find anything on my phone. One of their oga asked if I pay tax, so they just held me for that,” he added.
