The Premier League deserves criticism for their secrecy amid their ongoing legal battle vs Manchester City, top sports lawyer, Nick de Marco KC has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it is not nice that everyone is currently in the dark amid the court process, and the absolute secrecy does the reputation of the EPL no good at all.
Nick added that as soon as there is a decision by the very learned panel, it should be published immediately.
His words, “Everyone is now speculating about the alleged outcome of the MCFC v PL Rule X arbitration, and who might have won what. But nobody can know what the result is (if indeed there has been one) or how it was reached, because the PL cling on to absolute secrecy. It does their reputation no good at all, at a time the govt. is considering the powers of a new independent football regulator, to keep such important matters of football regulation, that effect the whole competition, secret. If there is a decision of the very learned panel, it should now be published.”
