Erelu Elebute Halle, the Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) during the 2022 election, has announced her decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing her belief in the party’s agenda and the support she has received from Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
Halle made this announcement at the ADP secretariat in Similoluwa, Ado Ekiti, while unveiling the new Chairman of ADP in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodeji Ojo.
She praised Ojo for his dedicated service to the party over eight years and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the party to greater heights.

In a statement to journalists, Halle explained that her decision to leave the ADP was personal, after reflecting on the last election and consulting widely with stakeholders.
She mentioned receiving invitations from several parties but noted that many of them seemed more interested in her financial contributions than her ideals.
Halle commended Governor Oyebanji for his love and respect, stating that the APC is a caring family. She recalled the support she received from the APC during her father’s burial and expressed her lack of interest in contesting the party’s ticket with Oyebanji.
She stated, “I decided to join APC because of the love I have received from Governor Oyebanji and because I believe in the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
I am leaving but not leaving you; I will be ready to support you at any time you need me.”
Halle emphasized her continued support for the ADP, declaring, “I am one of the major financiers of ADP, and I will continue to support the party irrespective of whether I stay or leave.”
