Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The ex-lawmaker was issued the APC membership card by the State Chairman of the Party in Abia, Kingsley Ononogbu, on Tuesday.
Enyinnaya, who is the son of Theodore Orji, a former governor of Abia State, had tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.

In a briefing with some of his close supporters on Monday night, the ex-speaker cited issues within the PDP as the reason for his defection, stating, “After careful consultation and personal decision, I have decided to exit the PDP. It’s time to move on with our lives.”
