Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, a former governor of Kaduna State, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter to the Chairman of the Kaura Ward, Yero explained his decision to retire.
The governor has announced his resignation, effective September 30, 2023.

The ex-governor included his membership card in his letter.
“With gratitude to Almighty Allah, I write to extend my sincere greetings and to formally inform you of my decision to leave the Peoples Democratic party,” Yero wrote to the party’s leadership.
Because of this, I am submitting my resignation as a PDP member on September 30.
“Please find my returned membership card in the enclosed envelope.”
