In commemoration of the 2020 International Civil Aviation Day, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has during his address reiterated that effort is been made to concede four airports in Nigeria and establishment of new carrier.

The Minister in his keynote address on the commemoration of the 2020 International Civil Aviation Day, stated that this will be carried out inspite of oppositions by lawmakers on plans to concede airports.
According to Hadi Sirika, the House of Representatives have earlier requested the Federal Government to halt the concession plan on airports till issues connected to it are addressed.
Presently Four international airports have been billed for concession to private operators – Lagos airport, Abuja airport, Kano airport and Port Harcourt airport.
However according tothe spokesperson, Federal Ministry of Aviation, James Odaudu, the concession of airports constitute the aviation roadmap currently on course.
The spokesman stated that the minister noted that the roadmap will lay a foundation for aviation development in Nigeria.
