The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has affirmed the Federal Government’s dedication to realizing Nigeria’s foreign policy goals.
He made this statement in Abuja during a lecture at the 2023 annual ceremony organized by the Association of Retired Career Ambassadors of Nigeria.
The lecture, titled “The Nigerian Foreign Policy Agenda Under the Tinubu Administration,” was chaired by Prof. Anthony Asiwaju, a renowned scholar in border studies.

Addressing the audience, Minister Tuggar emphasized the importance of understanding foreign policy, describing it as the government’s chosen strategy to achieve its objectives in dealing with other nations.
He highlighted the existence and immutability of Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives, which are enshrined in the Constitution and aimed at promoting and safeguarding the country’s national interests.
Tuggar addressed various perceptions about Nigeria’s foreign policy, stating that despite diverse opinions, the country indeed has clear foreign policy objectives.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to advancing these objectives for the benefit of the nation.
