Popular sports journalist Ben Jacobs has said that Victor Osimhen’s perspective about Turkish football changed during his loan stay at Galatasaray. He recently revealed that the forward believes Turkish teams are beginning to show lots of ambition.
Speaking during an interview with the press, Ben shared that Osimhen doesn’t mind a permanent transfer to Galatasaray anymore because it saves him the stress of a potential futile negotiation with other European clubs.

According to him, Napoli‘s frustrating transfer saga with a Saudi Arabian club last summer is not an experience the Nigerian wants to go through again, hence the reason his priorities are different this summer.
Jacobs stated that the presence of Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also more proof that Turkish football is capable of attracting the big names.
“I think that Osimhen’s perspective changed during his loan stay at Galatasaray.
He didn’t want to once again go through what happened to him last summer, when he waited and waited and waited for something to happen but then, due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, nothing came off for him.
So, if you fast-forward to today, his priorities are different now. He wanted stability to maintain his form and was content to continue at Galatasaray, while it obviously helps that Turkish football is clearly growing and that several clubs are showing some serious ambition.
Look at Fenerbahce bringing in Jhon Duran, while you’ve also got popular managers like Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer working over there too,” he said.
The Sports journalist further noted that the incredible football culture in Turkey has also played a decisive role, stressing that Osimhen is now in love with Galatasaray.
He concluded by saying that the loan spell last season convinced the striker that he can spend more years in Turkey.
“There’s always been an incredible football culture in Turkey, too, so it’s not a big surprise to see the Super Lig taking off and attracting big names. The standard of play is high and the wages on offer are competitive.
But there really was an instant affinity with the Gala fanbase. Osimhen very much fell in love with the club. So, ultimately, I believe that the loan spell was the decisive factor in how this whole affair has concluded,” he added.
