Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino has come out to say that Conor Gallagher was captain against Bournemouth last Sunday because Enzo Fernandez is struggling with his English. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Thiago Silva is an experienced player who does not need the armband to lead on the pitch, so he decided to pick a potential captain for the future.
Poch added that the only reason why Enzo was not picked was because he cannot communicate with his teammates in English yet.
His words, “Thiago is an experienced player that doesn’t need the armband and then I think it’s important to build something for the future. Not only the present but the future. He is there and the captain is not only to put the armband on your arm. Enzo is still struggling with his English.”
