National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, appointed a nine-member committee on Thursday in Abuja to intervene in the impeachment crisis shaking the government of Ondo State.
Mr. Edwin Olofu, Chief Press Secretary to Mr. Ganduje, made the announcement.
He said that the team, headed by former Katsina State governor Aminu Masari, would work toward a negotiated settlement that would satisfy all sides.

The party’s national secretariat is very worried about the current political climate in Ondo State, which, if not resolved soon, might cause additional disillusionment among party members.
Therefore, the national secretariat has decided to intervene to clear the air and prevent any further confusion.
The goal, Ganduje added, was to “foster a better understanding that may likely lead to amicable resolution.”
He reassured the party faithful that the committee would treat all of the state’s stakeholders with dignity and respect as it sought a long-term resolution to the situation.
He pleaded for everyone to keep their cool and give the committee led by Masari every ounce of help they could.
