Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has presented a N486.2 billion budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly. The appropriation bill, tagged “Budget of Service,” was presented on Monday in Yola.
Speaking during the presentation, Governor Fintiri said the budget aligns with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) and reflects the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in governance.
“Out of the total proposed budget estimate, the sum of N137.2 billion, which represents 28.23 percent, is earmarked for recurrent services.

The balance of N348.9 billion, or 71.77 percent of the total projected annual budget, is allocated for capital development programmes and services in the state,” Fintiri stated.
He emphasized that the state government would continue to adhere to the Federal Government’s directive to implement International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) to ensure transparency and accountability in budget preparation and implementation.
“The 2025 Budget has taken into consideration the realities of today’s economic situation. As an administration, we have purposefully assessed our projected revenue to set our priorities right and align our expenditure with what is economically realistic,” the governor added.
In response, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wisely, assured the governor of the legislature’s readiness to expedite the budget’s review and approval process to ensure its timely implementation in 2025.
Governor Fintiri expressed optimism that the budget would drive significant development in the state, particularly in critical sectors like infrastructure, healthcare, and education, aimed at improving the quality of life for Adamawa residents.
