Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appealed to all aggrieved factions in the state to prioritize peace and unity to avoid division and promote development.
Speaking at the Ogoni Day celebration in Bori Town, Khana Council, Governor Fubara, represented by his deputy, Ngozi Odu, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace for the overall progress of the state.
Governor Fubara stated, “I, therefore, want to plead with everyone to put our hands together and allow peace to prevail across the state because without peace, there will be unnecessary division. We don’t need that now.”

He highlighted the significance of unity, especially in the context of ongoing challenges within the state, including the reported rift between him and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Governor Fubara underscored his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the development of all councils in the senatorial district, with a special focus on Ogoni land.
He emphasized key areas such as electricity and security as top priorities for the government’s agenda in Ogoni land.
The governor’s call for unity and peace amidst existing tensions reflects a concerted effort to foster a harmonious environment for the advancement of Rivers State.
As the state navigates through internal challenges, Governor Fubara’s appeal serves as a reminder of the imperative of collective cooperation and dialogue in resolving differences and steering the state towards progress and prosperity.
