Born in Chicago, Illinois, where she spent her early years, Lami Phillips grew up surrounded by all genres of music, as her parents and siblings were all music enthusiasts.
Naturally inclined to RnB, Soul and Jazz, from an early age, it’s little wonder she took to the stage and started performing professionally.
While gaining momentum in her world of music, she completed her BA (Hons) at University of Kent, then her MA degree from the University of Nottingham.
She then moved back to the United States and started taking professional vocal lessons again. By this time, she had started songwriting professionally also, and was looking into a debut album.
With an endless thirst for knowledge she decided to get yet another degree while in the United States, an Executive MBA from Pennsylvania State University.
She’s not just a singing bird too! Lami has a charity organisation called BeTheChange which is focused on helping children and the less fortunate.
