Nollywood actress Moji Olaiya, 42, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in Canada.
It was earlier reported that the actress had died of cardiac arrest. According to a recent report, Moji Olaiya’s health became worse after the birth of her second child.
Mrs Keji, the late actress’ housekeeper said Moji Olaiya complained of ‘being uncomfortable’ after giving birth.
“Her baby was born premature- her EDD was for May 2017 but complications arose that necessitated that she be induced to save the baby’s life as well as hers. But since the delivery in March, her health had not been exactly perfect” she said.
By 3 am Nigerian time yesterday it was reported that Olaiya’s health condition had worsened. “Her blood pressure shot up and she got unconscious. An ambulance was called to transport her to the hospital. But her case worsened and she gave up the ghost before the could make it to the hospital” she revealed.
Moji Olaiya’s older brother, Otunba Olaiya, however, said that his sister did not complain about her health before her unexpected death.
“When I spoke to her a few days ago, she did not give signs of death. She never complained about anything. This is really heartbreaking” he said.
Moji Olaiya is survived by two daughters. Her first daughter Adunola who attends Babcock University is said to be currently mourning the loss of her mum. Her two-month-old baby is in care with her friend in Canada.
According to the report, Moji Olaiya’s father, Sir Victor Olaiya has not been made aware of his daughter’s death.
