Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has come out to explain why Ederson was not featured vs Brighton. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he decided to go with Ortega because Ederson was away with his national team throughout the international break, so he needed to rest.
Pep added that suggestions that there is more to the Brazilian getting benched are very false and misleading.
His words, “He (Ederson) had the Brazil trip. He could play but we decided to give him a little rest. That’s all.”
