I Didn’t Organize Any Players-Only Meeting After Burnley Game – Van Dijk

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has reacted to a supposed players-only meeting that he called on the back of a disappointing draw with relegation-threatened Burnley. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, there was no gathering organised by him, and he cannot understand why such misinformation has been flying around.

Slot added that the only meeting that happened after the Burnley game was organized by him.

His words, “Obviously there was going to be a meeting after the Burnley game but I didn’t say there was a meeting by me. I don’t know where this misinformation is coming from.”

Slot added, “I am not aware that Virgil called for [team meeting], we had a post-match meeting led by me. Once this season I am aware the players came together, months ago. Post-match meeting was positive that we did, and where we can do a bit better to make sure if you perform like that – so many shots – that doesn’t result in a draw.”
