Popular singer, Asake has come out to share one of the secrets behind his meteoric rise to the top of the Afrobeats music scene. He recently had his say while speaking with the GQ magazine, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the first step he took was getting a neck tattoo so he can’t get a real job in Nigeria, and that made him focus on improving his music.

Asake added that even if he achieved massive fame as a musician in just 2 years, it took longer years of practice.
His words, “In Nigeria, if you have a tattoo on your neck, you can’t work anywhere. I can’t work for any company. I can’t sell anything.
I was tired when I got the tattoo. I felt like, I don’t want to keep trying.
The second step is just working really, really, hard. You have to understand: I got there in two years, but I’ve been working for years.
People are counting the days you’re successful. They don’t count the days you’ve been working toward it. Nobody gives a fuck about that.”
WOW.
