Juventus defender, Giorgio Chiellini has come out to admit that he was a fool to reject Arsenal when he was 16. He recently revealed that the offer from the London club was very huge at the time, but he just didn’t feel ready for the challenge.

According to him, accepting the deal from Arsenal would’ve meant him betraying the club he was with at the time, so he had to reject the offer.
He added that he respects Zlatat Ibrahimovic a lot, and he is surely the best enemy of his career.
His words, “In hindsight, I was a fool to decline that offer. I was 16, I played in Serie C, I got a huge offer.
“I didn’t feel ready. If I had accepted, it would have given the impression of betraying Livorno.”
Recall that Van Persie had this to say years back, “At a given moment I felt called upon to say what Arsenal could do better in order to win the league. I felt we lacked a winning mentality, and asked Arsene Wenger to sign Giorgio Chiellini.”
“I have played against him a few times, and he is a genuine winner.”
“He is 36 years old, but he’ll dish out nine elbows every game with a smile on his face. He’ll keep smiling and never get a yellow card. You need those types of winners and killers in your side. I felt we should get him.”
Chiellini said on Zlatan, “I respect Zlatan a lot, we respect each other. We were team-mates, in my first season at Juve. I was never afraid to face him, never took a step back in front of him. He already had extraordinary physical strength.”
“After that he became the absolute enemy, when he moved. The best enemy of my career is Ibrahimovic, without a doubt.”
